Well, I can't believe it! Here we are in Saint John, NB and can't get home to Halifax. We made it to the airport but our flight was cancelled. Instead of going inside to see what the next flight would be, we four "girls" laughed our heads off and told the cabbie to return to the hotel. At which point I was able to call them and get our rooms booked and even upgraded us all at no costs! Thanks to the wonderful Delta Saint John. Great rooms, fabulous staff and incredible beds. When we returned to our Signature rooms, we tried to call others left in the hotel, but they were no where to be found.
Suddenly, it dawned on us to contact the airline to see about getting a flight home the next day. I guess we thought our new flights would miraculously appear in our hands, ha ha boy we got a surprise. We waited on the line for Air Canada to answer for over 2 1/2 hours then I called our Travel Agent to see if we could get them and waited over 35 minutes. Here we were, back in the hotel with the whole night to ourselves, no family, no commitments and we ended up stuck on the phones all night just trying to find a flight to get home.
Our plans to just sleep in late and get up to a lazy breakfast then head to the airport was fast leaving us. We were lucky we got the flights we did. We are all leaving different times. What a night of laughing and giggling. Jill said, "If I'd had known how much fun you all were, I'd have gotten involved before". We laughed.
We woke our Organizer up asking if we could rent a car and she mumbled that she thought it would be ok. We called the Agent back to confirm Deb's flight and I found out our connection flights in Montreal could never be made in time so after checking if we had child care back home and other stuff, we were finally able to confirm our flights for 5:30 pm. The girls couldn't stop laughing and talking. Deb who was going on the early flight, says it's no since going to sleep because she only has to get up in a couple of hours. Jill is going off to bed and Lynette is already asleep. I'm trying to kick Deb and Jill out so I can watch a religious movie and get some sleep.
Night for now, as I have to get these girls out!!!
