My grandmother, Elizabeth Harris Dickson was born on Entry Island. She left home young to go to school in PEI. That's what kids had to do to advance their education.
During my 1995 trip to do a family tree, I took lots of pictures of scenery and of people who are no longer with us. It is amazing to look back and see so many new family members.
In 2009, I went back with my two sisters and cousin. We also took great pictures and we were able to get more info because we already knew so much. I want to share with you all, the magnificant scenery on Entry Island and the main Island. It is rich in culture, folklore, ancestry and family for me. Colourful houses, sand castle making, culpture fishermen, Big Hill where many a sheep or cows have fallen off, including a few tourist, sand dunes and beaches. I'll post more upon my return from my upcoming trip. I hope you enjoy these incredible pictures:

Beautiful pictures and a wonderful post. Thanks for sharing your thoughts "On Home".
ReplyDeleteNice images of Entry Island, a part of Quebec travelers don't often get a chance to see.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your scenic adventures.
cheers, @hiptraveler
Thank you both for your comments. I have more pictures and will share them later. It is a beautiful place for sure. I'm related to most of the Islands but all on Entry Island. Entry Island is lovely!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many reasons for Prince Edward County to travel over the summer months. But if you're in a 'vacation' state of mind this year, chart a course in a new direction. This summer, make it a PEI vacation.
