When the ship landed in Izmir Turkey, we were so excited! We saw the city as we sailed closer to her. You can see older buildings. Our anticipation grew. When we disembarked, I couldn't hold back my excitement! The kids were amazed by the beautiful greeting and music we received from the people dressed up. This is the ONLY city we went to that actually did a formal greeting for ship passengers. We really appreciated it so much.
We enjoyed the colourful houses and mountains. We didn't get to shop because our guide was more interested in getting us to the carpet factory where he hoped we would buy something. I will never allow a guide to direct me this way again. It happened in Egypt and here. When we ate our lunch, it was a buffet and it was very good. The kids really enjoyed themselves. What a journey!
Beautiful country, with hugh mountains and breathtaking views. It was lovely to see and to be a part of, even for a short while. We were on our way to Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary. So much to see.
The hills and mountains in Turkey are amazing. I wish you could see how we saw them. |
This road led us to Ephesus and the House of the Virgin Mary. It was very curvy. |
