We can't believe it, we really had a dinosaur named Sue in Halifax at our Museum of Natural History on Bell and Summer Street! The kids loved it! My friend and I took the boys to see "Sue". She was all pink and pretty. I can't believe how long she was and how big.
Imagine coming up on her if she were alive today, no way... I'd be elsewhere, as the saying goes. Her length and height were amazing. The museum even had a board where you could press a button and smell certain animals back then smelled like, whew ooh, they stink. No getting around that. There were heads of dinosaurs and other parts throughout the museum. But the one area the kids couldn't wait to go, was the museum shop afterwards. Luckily I had some money on me.
It is great to take kids and ourselves to see the wonders that others put together for us to view and enjoy nature's wonders. Our children need to be part of this culture and to have the opportunity to visit our museums. Many schools take the children on excursions to museums and other historic places so they can take in the rich culture, the history of our past and see the way towards the future. After all, it is theirs to make. Enjoy!
