My many adventures

I survived breast cancer, to travel around the world to some of the many places I've always wanted to go. There are lots more places I still want to visit.

I've been to Scotland, England, Vancouver, Victoria BC, an Alaskan cruise, Yukon, Alaska (Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway), a fab Mediterranean cruise which took us to Barcelona, the Vatican & Rome, the island of Crete, Izmir & Sulcuk, Ephesus Turkey, Egypt and Malta. I have been to Las Vegas, Hollywood LA, Cabo San Lucas, Orlando, Daytona Beach, Tampa, a Disney Cruise to Bahamas and Disney's Castaway Cay island, all over Canada and Hawaii and Pearl Harbour. We can add Cozumel, Costa Maya, Mexico, Belize City and Honduras. What a fabulous way to see the world!
Take the time to do the things you want to do because life is too short and if you wait until you can afford it, you'll likely never go. So get your plans ready and pick a place and start booking your trip. It is so worth it.

Thanks for dropping by. I have lots of posts to put up so stay tuned...

BLOG POST June 2019

Hi Folks! During a convention in Toronto in 2017, my grandson and I visited Niagara Falls, CN Tower and went to Medieval Knights dinner theatre. We had such a fabulous time! I will be posting pictures of that wonderful trip.

I still have a great deal of travel posts to put up. I want our vacations and travel to be shared with you all. I'm not sure of what our travel plans will be for 2017, but for 2016, I rested all the time. Retirement is so awesome!! I was able to take pictures of the summer's Totally Eclipse of the Moom, which I'll share with you here on a post. It was incredible for sure.
I just love summer! I hope the winter will be gentle to us.

Still trying to find my ancesters with the Foran/Forhan name. Apparently two brothers came over from Dublin, one was name Edward who had a son named Edward born in Prince Edward Island and he had a son named William who had my father. I love doing ancestry but it is very frustrating when you can get no further without the "parents" names.

I have so many posts to write about so please keep patience with me. I received a great posting from SiteHoundSniffs.com which looks to be a great animal site. Hope you enjoy it.

My granddaughter Layla made it to Master Chef Canada in 2018 but was cut. She's still a great cook.

My little guy Rialey is now 16 and is 6'2 ". He is so thoughtful of me and helps me a lot.

I had hoped to travel last year or in 2019, but health issues stopped that thought. Now I face another health issue, heart failure. Last May 2018 I was admitted to hospital and went into cardiac arrest. Thankfully they brought me back. With all the great health care, I am in recovery. When you don't have yur health, you have nothing. I think I have about 8 specialist doctors and my MD and I pay nothing, thank goodness!

Take care my blogger friends.

Thanks friends,

Debbie

TBEX Conference in Toronto WTCC

Hello everyone.  Here I am at the TBEX conference in Toronto. I landed at the little city airport and it is just a minute or two away from downtown Toronto.  It is so pretty.  I got a $10 taxi ride to my  hotel, the Intercontinental Hotel 225 Front St. It is very contemporary with very helpful and friendly staff.  I'm going to do a separate post on the hotel itself.

When I arrived and settled into my room.  I got ready and went downstairs to find my way over to the registration for the TBEX conference.  I didn't realize just how large the conference center was.  It was HUGE!  By the time I received my registration kit and badge, I started back.  It was so difficult for me to walk all the way back to the hotel and up to my room.  At times, I didn't think I'd make it.  I mentioned to the TBEX team that they should include details for peoples with disabilities about the possible need to rent an electric.  Thankfully the hotel concierge Callum came to my rescue.  He researched electric cars until he found me one and had it delivered it Friday evening. So I was ready for Saturday's TBEX event.

It was AMAZING!  I drove down to the conference area and saw so many people doing various things like talking, walking, eating,  reading and meeting with sponsors.  I had a chance to meet sponsors from SPG rewards and I was able to inform them of the terrible troubles with the Sheridan chain in getting my rewards  put on my account.  I hope they will be able to resolve this because I really love Sheridan hotels.

During the Open Market, I was able to meet with so many wonderful sponsors and hear about their services and what they bring to bloggers and for visitors to their.  I received some lovely gifts like t-shirts, squeeze balls, luggage tags, pens, chocolate and so many more items.  We were provided a fabulous lunch right in the extremely large room opposite to the Open Market with sponsors.  I have to thank the wonderful sponsors who made this event a success.  It is a great travel bloggers conference.  An incredible opportunity for so many bloggers and sponsors to get together and see how we can help each other.

I got to meet Dave and Deb who were the Keynote Speakers for the afternoon.  It was so informative and educational.  I spoke with sponsors from Ireland who were entertaining and informative.  They told me that the "red head gene" is dying out.  There will be a gathering this August which could be the very last one.  Without red heads marrying red heads, we will see this gene disappear.  I have a red head daughter and the colour is so unique.  I hope red heads get together to keep the gene going.  So for those who are Irish and red head, you might want to go to Ireland for the possibly last gathering of Red Heads.  The next TBEX conference will be in Dublin in October 2013.  The last one was in New York.

I drove back to my room, hoping I could rest enough to attend the Expedia Red Carpet event happening on the Island from 7 to 10.  I didn't make it but I did re-tweets from those who were there.  I am so looking forward to Sunday when I meet with sponsors during our "speed dating" where we get a chance to talk for 8 minutes before I move on to my next one.

I took some pictures and I hope you enjoy it.  I can honestly say that if you ever get a chance to attend a #TBEX conference, then do it! You won't regret it.  Thank you to the entire TBEX Team for putting together this wonderful conference and thank you so much to the incredible sponsors.  You're awesome!
Enjoy the pictures from the Island while waiting for the ferry to come take us to the "main land".
