Life is like a blink of an eye. It's here one minute and gone the next. Nothing is promised to any of us. We are born with disabilities or not. The difficulty life gives us are the many challenges from day to day.
No one asks for syndromes or disabilities or diseases but it happens. We have to pick up the gaunlet and forge on, but some of us need help. Friends, neighbours, family and co-workers can play and are a big part of our lives and they can help make a difference. They can give us that strength to just keep moving forward, regardless what we face.
I faced severe breast cancer which nearly took my life twice. I lived and now bring up my grandchildren, 8 & 16. Difficiulties? I ask you, do you think??? When I travel with the children, which I do a fair bit of, we do have difficulties especially when the little guy starts to become angry and upset. He can run away, throw things, say horrible things and call names but eventually he begins to calm down and is very sorry but the damage it done. As parents we just have to move past it and hope the next one isn't too bad.
On the cruise, he only had a few upsets and the teenager gave me attitude issues, but we made it through and had a wonderful vacation in Europe. Now that Egypt is calmed down and democracy is shining through the stars, we will go back. There is so much we want to see and explore and we will give ourselves more time. I definitely want to go back to Rome, Egypt, Turkey, Malta and to see Athens. My upcoming vacation to Kauai, Hawaii will be awesome. In the meantime, I will be doing lots of work travel.
Don't forget to support the Dragon Boat race coming up in May 15, 2011 and check out the site on twitter @battleinthebay This will be an amazing fund raiser and awareness for breast cancer. Please support and give what and when you can. If you're really adventurous then put a team into the race yourself!!
Thanks for letting me vent, I needed that!
