My many adventures

I survived breast cancer, to travel around the world to some of the many places I've always wanted to go. There are lots more places I still want to visit.

I've been to Scotland, England, Vancouver, Victoria BC, an Alaskan cruise, Yukon, Alaska (Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway), a fab Mediterranean cruise which took us to Barcelona, the Vatican & Rome, the island of Crete, Izmir & Sulcuk, Ephesus Turkey, Egypt and Malta. I have been to Las Vegas, Hollywood LA, Cabo San Lucas, Orlando, Daytona Beach, Tampa, a Disney Cruise to Bahamas and Disney's Castaway Cay island, all over Canada and Hawaii and Pearl Harbour. We can add Cozumel, Costa Maya, Mexico, Belize City and Honduras. What a fabulous way to see the world!
Take the time to do the things you want to do because life is too short and if you wait until you can afford it, you'll likely never go. So get your plans ready and pick a place and start booking your trip. It is so worth it.

Thanks for dropping by. I have lots of posts to put up so stay tuned...

BLOG POST June 2019

Hi Folks! During a convention in Toronto in 2017, my grandson and I visited Niagara Falls, CN Tower and went to Medieval Knights dinner theatre. We had such a fabulous time! I will be posting pictures of that wonderful trip.

I still have a great deal of travel posts to put up. I want our vacations and travel to be shared with you all. I'm not sure of what our travel plans will be for 2017, but for 2016, I rested all the time. Retirement is so awesome!! I was able to take pictures of the summer's Totally Eclipse of the Moom, which I'll share with you here on a post. It was incredible for sure.
I just love summer! I hope the winter will be gentle to us.

Still trying to find my ancesters with the Foran/Forhan name. Apparently two brothers came over from Dublin, one was name Edward who had a son named Edward born in Prince Edward Island and he had a son named William who had my father. I love doing ancestry but it is very frustrating when you can get no further without the "parents" names.

I have so many posts to write about so please keep patience with me. I received a great posting from SiteHoundSniffs.com which looks to be a great animal site. Hope you enjoy it.

My granddaughter Layla made it to Master Chef Canada in 2018 but was cut. She's still a great cook.

My little guy Rialey is now 16 and is 6'2 ". He is so thoughtful of me and helps me a lot.

I had hoped to travel last year or in 2019, but health issues stopped that thought. Now I face another health issue, heart failure. Last May 2018 I was admitted to hospital and went into cardiac arrest. Thankfully they brought me back. With all the great health care, I am in recovery. When you don't have yur health, you have nothing. I think I have about 8 specialist doctors and my MD and I pay nothing, thank goodness!

Take care my blogger friends.

Thanks friends,

Debbie

Riverside Resort and Conference Centre, French Village, New Brunswick

Hello Folks.

Recently I traveled to Fredericton, New Brunswick for a meeting with a number of people.  During my stay, I enjoyed a lovely suite.  It opened up to a lovely sofa, two chairs and a coffee table with a little red flower arrangement.  Don't ask my why, but that flower arrangement really made my day.  I love flowers anyway, but I was taken with this arrangement.  Further on from the sofa, a wooden, round table with two chairs waited for me.  Above the table, was the most different window I have ever seen.  As I looked over from the sofa, there was a lovely king size bed with four pillows lined up across the bed, just calling me.  Beyond the bed, at the far end of the room was the sweetest little fireplace.  To my delight, there was a remote control which I used to turn the fireplace on.  I had a sky light window above the fireplace.  Along the wall at the foot of the bed was my bureau and my TV and phone.  I must say, I was absolutely taken by the entire suite.

When I looked into the bathroom, it stretched a long way down until you reached the shower and toilet.  But as I first entered, I had a mini kitchen with a little sink, microwave and fridge.  As I moved further down, there was a very long vanity with two sinks with a tub across from it (which also had a shower).  On the vanity sat a very welcoming pool housecoat to wrap myself in if I took advantage of the pool and gym facilities.  I didn't this time.  There was lots of discussions I had to do.

The entrance of the Riverside Resort was lovely.  It was done mostly in wood.  The dining area was nicely decorated and the meeting rooms were very large.  We did have a little problem with the meeting room being too warm.  The food in the restaurant was totally awesome!  I can't complain.  The entire staff of the Resort was some of the friendliest people I have ever met.  True hospitality.

There were three suites on the 3rd floor, one faced the parking area in back (my room) with some tree view, one faced the side parking lot and one faced the river.  There were even beautiful cottages on site which would sleep four people easy as they had two bedrooms, a full kitchen and living area and screens for the bugs.  The Resort also had party cabins where we partied later.

This is and was a wonderful resort and am so pleased I was able to enjoy my visit, however short it was.  It is located about 45 minutes outside of Fredericton.
Hope you enjoy the pictures.  Here is there website if you like to learn more of this lovely resort.

My view from my room.

You can see my sky light reflection and the electric fireplace.

This was the view from windows in the large entrance facing the back.

The lobby where you can sit looking out the window or get comfortable further down by the wood fireplace to cozy up with.

The lobby at the front and you can see the restaurant further down.

Entrance to the dining area. Fabulous buffet! Incredibly friendly staff.

The front lobby and this square has steps that lead down to the pool, gym & hot tub.  There were also elevators if they were needed instead of the stairs.

The front check in area and you can see the business area for client's use over on the right.

This is the friendly face that greets you when you check in or out.  Cathy was wonderful, but all the staff including the housekeeping staff.  Thank you to all of you for a fabulous stay!
