Well, off to Miramichi again, then Corner Brook then St. John's and finally off to Ottawa. This is all before our big cruise trip!!
Leaving on Air Canada flights. So far, I have had great service with Canadian Air Canada but I have had the most horrible service with Air Canada in Orlando 2009 March. It was so bad! Here I was stranded with two kids. They said I missed the call for the Montreal people but I didn't hear them call out because we were in line to get our boarding passes. They refused to put us on the plane. As a matter of fact, I heard the real reason was they overbooked the flight by a large number. So I guess they were looking for any excuse to deny people. We had to wait on standby all night and with a child with ADHD and a youth, it was very difficult but the kids were great!
We finally got in Montreal and thankfully the Canadian Air Canada service was soooo much better. They put us up in a hotel with a meal with a bus to and from the airport. Finally after a lot of trouble, we made it home. Now, I'm afraid to go Air Canada in Florida again. I still haven't written to the HQs of Air Canada to complain because it still brings back bad memories.
So the service and places where I travel to and from mean a lot to me. I also critic items I buy. With children with asthma and disorders, I have to be fussy.
I will send more into and include pictures on my next travel adventures. But I really will be blogging on the BIG trip to Spain and the cruise.
Stay tuned.
UPDATE: The Rodd Inn in Miramichi is a great little place for family to visit. It was a picturesque view of the Miramichi River. The Inn has a lovely, deep pool with a hot tub. The restaurant is situated overlooking the river and the decor is very warm and inviting.
The rooms are a different colour with a orange and green combo. The bathrooms are so clean and refreshing to take a shower or a luxury bath in. The rooms are very clean, but some carpets should be replaced. There is free Internet and a wide range of tv channels to watch. A small fridge comes in handy when you want to keep your liquids cold. I liked my room which had a great sofa bed and coffee table. Very relaxing. The beds are so comfortable, certainly helps one sleep more soundly, unless you're like me and need feather pillows. I should have requested them when I arrived but didn't until it was far too late.
Miramichi, is one of the sweetest and loveliest town. The older homes are so worth seeing. The country streets and unique buildings make it worth the venture. This town used to be home to a many pulp and paper mills, but as time went on, they closed. Today, I say logs floating down the river and my first reaction was, "look, there's a croc", well, they soon laughed at me.
It's time to say good night for now, I'm off for a swim before bed. Tonight I have my feather pillows so it should be a heavenly sleep!
